They can often be seen working on their wares at the centre. The cooperative enjoys working with their local customers throughout the year and visitors from around the world during the summer months. The Lakes Artisan Centre has been in business since June 2010. The cooperative was formed because a group of local artists and artisans were looking for a space to showcase their wares without paying commissions to a gallery. They saw a need for artists to display and sell locally made items to both locals and tourists. They believe in lifting the doom from small-town expectations and that if you love what you do, others will too.
