Explore Kager Lake Trail – A 2.7 km Hiking Trail Perfect for All Ages
Experience the beauty of Kager Lake with this easy and flat hiking trail, suitable for everyone from kids to seniors. Enjoy the flora and fauna of the area’s secondary pine and spruce forested environment, including some of the region’s native plant species. Take advantage of the picnic tables and fire pits located along the trail for a relaxing break. The Kager Lake trail is multi-use and mostly flat, with some narrow boardwalks and short, steep climbs or descents. You will encounter several campsites located on both sides of the lake as you hike. Revel in the magnificent views of Kager Lake and the surrounding flora on this trail. Free camping (First come first serve!) There is a car camping site, with a large parking area for large RVs and trailers (6 sites, including tables, fire rings, and three outhouses) located adjacent to the parking lot. Twelve tent sites (tables, fire rings) are located around the Kager Lake Loop, including one located on a small island. There is also one tent site on Long Lake accessible by trail or water.

Directions: To get there from Burns Lake take 5th Ave. from Hwy 16 to meet up with Gowan Road. Once on Gowan Road, continue until you reach Boer Mountain Lookout Road. Turn left. Follow the road to the trailhead, located on the right (Kager Lake is visible from the road). You will pass the Burns Lake Mountain Bike Park on the way to Kager Lake.
