Francois Lake Ferry

Season: Summer, Winter | Activity: Rock Hunting, Sightseeing
The (free) Francois Lake Ferry runs across Francois Lake on Highway 35, about 26 kilometres south of Burns Lake, from the community of Francois Lake (north side) to Southbank (south side).

On the shore of Francois Lake, beside the Ferry Terminal on both the Southbank and the North Shore, you can find some of the pebble beaches that Francois Lake is known for. These pebble beaches are great spots to search for unique rocks. There is a chance to find agate, jasper, obsidian, chalcedony, quartz, calcite, and petrified wood in this area!

Directions: Take Highway 35 south from Burns Lake. Once you get to Francois Lake, follow the lake west until you reach the ferry landing.
